Challenging My Comfort Zone

I have been procrastinating writing this post since I've been back from my trip from Florida; which has been a few weeks now. Partly, because I wasn't sure if I was ready for the innanets (internet) to critique-and possibly-troll me for what I have done. But as I sit here, as long as I have and haven't published this post, it kind of defeats the purpose of it.

A few weeks back I visited Panama City Beach with my girl, Shantel over at  www.freckledandstyled.com (go check out her blog) and our friend Rhonda to celebrate our birthdays for some fun in the sun.  Because I have not been comfortable with my body in some years, I have made it a point to be covered up and that means even at the beach!

Original Swimsuit

While at the beach, I looked at women of all sizes wearing a 2-piece bikinis, while assessing these ladies I thought to myself...if they can love the skin at the size they are now, then why can't I...and doing so in a bikini as well? Needless to say, I ended up at Target that Friday night and purchased me a new 2-piece bikini to wear on Saturday at the beach. Did I mention, I have never worn a 2-piece bikini? Yeah, I know, I know....lol.

New bikini

Being pushed out of my comfort zone has given me some confidence to challenge myself in other areas of my life. Putting on that 2-piece and uploading this picture of myself has been one of the most uncomfortable things I've done in a very long time. Knowing I'm about to push send for everyone to see has raised my anxiety all the way up. But here goes......

When was the last time you pushed yourself out of your comfort zone?
