A look into my day as a 9-5 Corporate Life Chic

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

I work in the Healthcare Benefits Department at my job and when I tell you I look forward to having a day off during the week from my cubicle life...I really do.  Most days are repetitious and some days not so much. Rather you leave the house going to a job or a stay-at-home-mom, I'm sure you look forward to a day off as well, but then I start to thinking about what will be waiting for me when I return to the office the next day after a day off.  Do you feel the same?

Here is how a day go for me:

5:45am-6:00am...I hit the snooze button about 3 times

6:00am-6:45am...shower, put on clothes, make-up and get misc things together for work

6:45am-7:00 or so...check: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and check blog for any comments that need replies

7:10am-8:15am...head out the door and head to the office. Traffic is a mess in the ATL, so I will be sitting for most of this time heading into the city

About to get my work day started

8:15am-8:30am...go around the office, speak and chat with my employees before the phones come on

8:30am-12:00am...check to-do list, check voicemail, check emails and respond, put out any fires in the office(if needed), attend meetings and chat with upper management about the day

12:00pm-1:00pm...lunch, check out blogs, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter again

1:00pm-5:00pm...go back over to-do list, do rounds the office again, look over what will be passed over to the next day to-do list, clean off my desk and head home

What's your workday like?

  1. Well... Glad you asked! Lol! I'm supposed to get to work at 7am, but I don't leave the house until 7am. Once I get to work, I take care of personal stuff first, troll my daughters Twitter and Instagram (I'm checking to make sure she didn't say anything about me of course), then check emails, phone calls, etc. I usually don't start "working, working" until about 9ish. Lunch between 12:30-1, a little more work, then out the door at 4. :)
