Hola ladies! Since my diagnosis of high cholesterol and being prescribed medicine in March I have been making every effort to lower it before my next doctor appointment to check my levels. I have been working out 3-4 days a week, I stopped indulging in fast food and now I have added meal prepping for continued healthy eating.
I have seen a lot of people who meal prep and wanted to do it one day myself...well that day came and I really like it. Below are some of the benefits of meal prepping:
|My fridge has never looked this clean of food|
- Meal prepping helps you stay on track with what you are eating. Meals are planned out and its gives little room to eating healthy and portioned food that you yourself prepped at home
- It will save you money! Going to the grocery store and spending $30 will go further than spending $5-6 a day on a meal at a fast food restaurant for lunch or dinner
- You will have more time to do other things. We all want more time in a day, for me I can make phone calls to my family/friends instead of waiting until the weekend for time, I can workout a little longer or I can just watch TV a little longer or go to bed a littler earlier...all because I don't have to worry about what I need to cook for the day
Few tips from Bobbie to help along the way...
Sunday is a good day for meal prepping for the week
Have plenty of Ziploc bags that seal for fruits/veggies/snacks
Have plenty of food storage containers for salads and meals
Need meal ideas??? Check the internet for recipes
Do you meal prep? If so, how has it helped you? If not, will you consider meal prep?
